Austin is the owner of VLO Baseball Training as well as a pitching instructor. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he played baseball at Mountain View High School. Austin is the owner of VLO Baseball Training as well as a pitching instructor. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona where he played baseball at Mountain View High School. After playing baseball and graduating with his associates degree from Cochise College, Austin moved to Oklahoma to play for Southern Nazarene University. In his senior year at SNU, Austin ranked #4 in the Great American Conference in saves. He struck out 28 batters in 29 IP while relieving in 17 games for the Crimson Storm and also maintaining a .317 average as a position player. At SNU, Austin ranks 2nd all-time in career saves and 10th all-time for career Opp BA. After graduating from college in May of 2018, Austin spent three months training at Driveline Baseball Facilities in Seattle, Washington. At Driveline, he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most innovative minds in data-driven pitching mechanics. Austin played one season of independent professional baseball. As a pro, he struck out 38 batters in 35.1 innings pitched while appearing in 27 games in the summer of 2019. Austin started his pitching instructing career in 2019 and has been doing it full-time since 2020.
Caleb is VLO's full-time hitting instructor. Caleb grew up in Crescent, IA. A small town closest to the Council Bluffs and Omaha areas. He played multiple sports at Underwood High School. Caleb is VLO's full-time hitting instructor. Caleb grew up in Crescent, IA. A small town closest to the Council Bluffs and Omaha areas. He played multiple sports at Underwood High School. Caleb attended Cornell College, an NCAA division III school for all 4 years. During his junior season, he hit .336 with 7 doubles and 3 home runs. He followed that year up with a .388 average as a senior setting the school record for hits in a season with 69. Of those 69 hits, 26 went for extra bases. He helped Cornell win its first ever conference championship in his senior season as well. Pitching a complete game in the championship game. He was voted as the MWC south divisions’s player of the year during his senior season. After graduating college, Caleb played one season of independent league baseball in Tucson, AZ. He hit .303 with 10 2B and 7 HR in 57 games. Prior to moving to Oklahoma City, Caleb was a hitting instructor at DBat-Marion in Marion, IA for 2 years.
Connor is one of our pitching instructors at VLO baseball training. He grew up in Keene, New Hampshire before moving to Moore, Oklahoma before high school where he played baseball at Southmoore. Connor is one of our pitching instructors at VLO baseball training. He grew up in Keene, New Hampshire before moving to Moore, Oklahoma before high school where he played baseball at Southmoore. After high school he continued to play baseball for Southern Nazarene University as a PO. His time playing was cut short due to an injury but that’s where his passion for growing the game in coaching began, as he wants to help his athletes prevent the struggles he went through both mentally and physically. Since then he has spent 3 years as a high school assistant coach and continues coaching for Yukon high school. Connor has been a pitching instructor since 2022 when Austin brought him onto the team.
Jacob Martinez is a utility instructor for VLO. Jacob is from Ventura, California. He has a variety of experience at many different levels in this game. In his junior college experience he was named Second Team All-Conference in the Western State Conference. He played one year of club ball to which he was named a Rawlings National Club Ba
Jacob Martinez is a utility instructor for VLO. Jacob is from Ventura, California. He has a variety of experience at many different levels in this game. In his junior college experience he was named Second Team All-Conference in the Western State Conference. He played one year of club ball to which he was named a Rawlings National Club Baseball Association D-1 Second Team All-American. He played with the Santa Barbra Foresters which led him to being a NBC World Series champion in the summer of 2022. Jacob played Division 1 baseball with Grand Canyon University as a pitcher becoming a Western Athletic Conference champion and recently was awarded ALL-GAC honorable mention for the Division 2 Great American Conference as a hitter. Throughout his playing career he has been given many different perspectives on different coaching/training styles. Jacob has trained kids from ages 8-17 whether that be one on one or in group settings.
